My Dear Adored PurimGifts Writer

My Dear, Adored PurimGifts Author,

Welcome to my journal. Glad you've come. Have a chair, sit down, enjoy the scenery. I've tried not to be too difficult in my requests, but it's hard to tell sometimes.

Apologies to anyone who's reading the intro bits twice. My tastes haven't changed in the time between posting these and why change what works. ;)

For the curious, the icon is the cover of Purim: A Joyous Holiday by Sophia N. Cedarbaum, one of the fandoms I've requested. I felt that everyone should have a chance to enjoy the painful artwork on the cover.

I'm very easy to write for, I promise. I like canon and backstory/future fic (especially the weird obscure bits, as you can tell by my requests), snark and witty banter, capers and proper adventures and characterization pieces. I'd rather not have anything above PG-13 (horror or smut)- though I don't mind shipping (het/femslash/slash are all fine, incestuous pairings not so much), I'm not really in this for the smut and I'd prefer that all of the characters stayed alive. As you may guess by my choice of fandoms and characters, I am fond of cheesy plots, snark and witty banter, and amazing adventures (and feeling the need for more Jewish-themed fic in my life). Feel free to take advantage of this.

Beta-readers are your friends - please do check for grammar, spelling and scientific accuracy (as far as you can).

Fandoms under the cut are Sofia the First (Cartoon), Shalom Sesame, Sesame Street (TV), American Girls: Rebecca - Various Authors, Frozen (2013), Phineas and Ferb, Tinker Bell (Movies), Sefer Makabim Alef | 1 Maccabees, Chalet School - Elinor M. Brent-Dyer, Simon Snow series - Gemma T. Leslie, Debbie & Donny series - Sophia N. Cedarbaum, and Hillel's Happy Holidays - Mamie G. Gamoran

Sofia the First (Cartoon)

We've seen no hints of religion on the show yet, so go wild. Perhaps she's Disney's first Jewish princess - if not, she's still female and there's still an evil vizier running about. Bonus points for rewriting the story of Esther with Sofia as the star (as the king's stepdaughter, rather than his wife).

Shalom Sesame and Sesame Street (TV)

Why is there no fic out there for Shalom Sesame? All I ask here is something Jewish themed.

American Girls: Rebecca - Various Authors

The Jewish American girl. Keep to period (1910s), but otherwise I'll be happy with anything. Perhaps something having to do with her interest in the new film industry.

Frozen (2013)

Another non-denominational Disney Kingdom. Stay away from the incest, and write me something fluffy.

Phineas and Ferb

Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, how do I love you? Let me count the ways.... Or perhaps, cast Doofenshmirtz as an evil vizier.

Tinker Bell (Movies)

Secret of the Wings is my favorite, if that matters (see also my love of Frozen). I'd love to see more of the winter kingdom and all the women being awesome, but I'd be happy with anything.

Sefer Makabim Alef | 1 Maccabees

I know, wrong holiday, but I find myself wondering about women during Judah Maccabees' revolt, who we don't see in the original story. Was one of Judah's brothers actually a sister? Were there women with his army?

Chalet School - Elinor M. Brent-Dyer

The school is portrayed as religiously diverse, by which the author means there were various denominations of Christianity. Tell me the story of a Jewish girl at the Chalet School and how she and the school have to adapt. Can be any era.

Simon Snow series - Gemma T. Leslie

The Simon Snow series is written as Harry Potter with vampires. Does it follow the trope of "everyone celebrates Christmas" or is it more religiously diverse? Focus on Penelope and/or Agatha please and feel free to include an evil vizier.

Debbie & Donny series - Sophia N. Cedarbaum and Hillel's Happy Holidays - Mamie G. Gamoran

These are both at heart the same sort of stories, mildly didactic and focusing on Jewish holiday traditions. If you remember these fondly, as I do, feel free to go off in any direction you choose.
