Dear rarewomen author

My Dear, Adored Rarewomen Writer,

Welcome to my journal. Glad you've come. Have a chair, sit down, enjoy the scenery. I've tried not to be too difficult in my requests, but it's hard to tell sometimes.

I'm very easy to write for, I promise. I like canon and backstory (especially the weird obscure bits), snark and witty banter (as you might be able to tell from my choice of characters), capers and proper adventures and characterization pieces. I'd rather not have anything above PG-13 - though I don't mind shipping (het/femslash/slash are all fine, incestuous pairings, not so much), I'm not really in this for the smut and I'd prefer that all of the characters stayed alive. As you may guess by my choice of fandoms and characters, I am fond of cheesy plots, snark and witty banter (see above) and amazing adventures. Feel free to take advantage of this.

Beta-readers are your friends - please do check for grammar, spelling and scientific accuracy (as far as you can). Historical accuracy too - if you're doing historical Betsy-Tacy contemporaneous to the series, please don't assume they had access to the same technology we do now. Note that I don't expect scientific accuracy in Phineas and Ferb - just keep it consistant with the show.

Marvel (Comics)
Illyana Rasputin, Rahne Sinclair

I haven't caught up on their current existance, but they were two of my favorites of the original New Mutants so give me a classic New Mutants story please, set before Illyana's "death". I don't mind if you only write about one of the two.

To be honest, if all you can write is a modern Illyana story, I wouldn't be unhappy, but I fell out of comics for a while so I completely missed her return to the Marvel Universe and all that followed (it's on my to read list) and I have no idea what Rahne has been up to recently, but the early New Mutant era (up until where Louise Simonson takes over) is still one of my favorite comic storylines. I especially liked that Illyana's powers made Rahne uncomfortable, so if you want to write a story that focuses on that aspect of their relationship, feel free, but don't limit yourself.

Phineas and Ferb
Vanessa Doofenshmirtz

I'd like a story about Vanessa, but it's okay to include Candace if that's where the story takes you. My favorite episodes are when she interacts with Phineas and Ferb, but any story about Vanessa being awesome is fine with me.

There isn't much more to say here. I love stories where she shows up. I love her interactions with her father and with Ferb and I just think she's awesome no matter what she does.

Betsy-Tacy Series - Maud Hart Lovelace
Carney Sibley

More about Carney please. Perhaps a story set before Betsy meets her at high school, or a story set at Vassar. Feel free to include the other characters if you wish. I love them all.

We don't see Carney before the high school books and I find myself wondering how Betsy wound up being subsumed into that Crowd so quickly. Had Carney decided Betsy would be a nice person to know? Had their paths crossed before? Or maybe a story set at Vassar as I always wanted to know more about that period in her life.

Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23
Any

I just love Chloe and June's dynamic and the fact that the writers managed to keep them balanced for the entire series (i.e. neither June nor Chloe is always right or successful - they both can be wrong or write or meet somewhere in the middle). Write me something that fits with the sharp humor of the show and I'll be happy.

The show managed to keep a surprising balance between sharp and cynical, and hopeful and optimistic and that's the most important part of my request. Write me Chloe before she met June or June before she met Chloe or both of them getting into a scrape (James Van Der Beek optional). If you need a more specific prompt, how about a trip to meet June's parents?
