As I'd be reminded, if I were a good enough Jew to actually go to synagogue today, "For sins against G-d, Yom Kippur is atonement enough, but for sins against others, we must seek forgiveness first" (paraphrased, possibly badly). So if I have wronged you in any way, please accept my apology.
Somewhere along the line I developed a custom of my own for Yom Kippur. I have a bookcase full of comfort books in my bedroom - the ones I've read so often I almost know them by heart and I chose a selection of those books and curl up and read for most of the day until my blood sugar drops so badly I can't maintain the fast, or it's time to eat. It's a distraction that doesn't require much brain power as they're all kids books, and most have been read and re-read since I was a child and I find it's a good distraction.
♥ everyone, and may anyone who is celebrating the holiday have an easy fast.
